STUDENT AWARDS

As we were unable to conduct our annual Night of Excellence, we have recognised student achievement this year with awards for Academic Achievement, Commitment to Learning and Courage during Remote Learning. One hundred and thirty-six students from Years 7 to 11 will receive a certificate in the mail in the coming days.  We have also listed them in this newsletter. Congratulations to these students and to all of our students for their efforts this year.

VCE RESULTS

The VCE results will be released to students at 7 am on Thursday 16th December. Our Pathways team has arranged interview times for each student who has made a VTAC application, on Thursday and Friday 17th December, to assist them with any changes they may need to make. The interviews will be held via telephone or videoconferencing. We encourage all students to avail themselves of this opportunity to finalise their preferences. We wish all our students the very best with their results and the offers they receive.

FAREWELL TO STAFF MEMBERS

On Friday, we will say goodbye to a number of staff members.  We thank them for their commitment and contribution to our school community and for their teaching and support of the students during their time at the College. We wish all of these staff members the very best in their future endeavours.

NEW BUILDINGS

This week, the new Library and Science buildings were handed over to the College. We have been busily moving in new furniture and staff into the new offices.  The new General Office Building will not be handed over until January 24th 2022. In that week we will be moving into the offices, therefore the office will not be opened until Monday 31st January 2022, when Year 7, 11 and 12 students return to school. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we get ready to start the new school year from our new spaces.  The students will be able to use the library, science classrooms and general purpose classrooms from day 1, 2022.

The old A, B and C wings will be demolished in January 2022.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

I would like to acknowledge the tremendous resilience and courage shown by our school community this year.  I am very proud of the way our staff was able to quickly return to remote and flexible learning on such short notice each time.  I am also proud of our students in the way they have connected to their teachers, classes and friends while learning from home.  When we returned to school this term, we recommenced our exciting and engaging programs including the School Production, Year 9 City Experience, Early Commencement Program, the Summer Activities Program and the Year 8 Camp. We have had a marvellous term and students have been happy to be back at school with their friends, participating in activities and reconnecting, face-to-face, with their teachers.

In 2022, we will continue to provide academic and wellbeing support to our students through the targeted programs and co-curricula activities.

Please take care during the holiday season, stay well and safe and enjoy what comes your way.
