School of Possibilities
It was with great excitement that the School of Possibilities staff welcomed students back to school on Wednesday, February 2. Not only were staff eager to see students back on site after the summer break, but their return marked the very first year of the School of Possibilities. The Year 10 cohort has been a part of many significant firsts for St Anne’s College, and they continue to make an important contribution to our school as we journey with them into their senior secondary studies.
Students have applied themselves well to the new school routine, adapting quickly to a new learning structure that has involved navigating core learning areas and their selected fields of specialisation. Across discipline areas this term, students are exploring the inquiry statement “We are all leaders”, which aims to develop their skills in leadership and collaboration. Initial work has centred on the features of a good leader and an exploration of existing leadership models. In consultation with students, we are developing a leadership structure that aligns with the pedagogy of St Anne’s College and helps create socially conscious, independent and confident young people. We look forward to sharing the outcome of these discussions and seeing our students turn their ideas into action.

It is with great joy that I can provide you with the very first School of Possibilities update. I am looking forward to the year ahead, working with our staff and students to build and develop the School of Possibilities.

We are excited to share another first for our college. Our newly enrolled VET students attended their first day on campus at GOTAFE on Wednesday, February 2. The students were a little nervous on arrival but excited to embark on this exciting new chapter. We have received some wonderful feedback already, and they were excited for their next day on campus. We have no doubt our students will represent our college to the highest standard and succeed in their chosen VET pathways.
