Learning and Teaching

Week Four, Term One

Michelle Barron

The term continues to move by very quickly. It was wonderful opening the gates this morning to see the enthusiasm and excitement on our student's faces as they entered the school grounds. There continues to be a positive energy surrounding us.

This week is our final week of working through our unit of inquiry with a focus on 'Dare to Lead.' Each level is engaged in different learning experiences that help to really establish what it means to be a leader and the importance of taking risks.

From next week learning is focused on Health, Digital Technologies and the Personal and Social Capability. Our Years 3-6 will also explore Civics and Citizenship and the Years 5 and 6 students will incorporate Economics and Business in their teaching and learning. The over-arching value of 'Collaboration- Let the little children come to me' will be connected to learning.

This week the majority of junior testing has been completed through the hard work of our teachers and the energy provided by our students. It has provided a valuable opportunity for staff to work 1:1 with the children and really get to know them. We look forward to continuing to use evidence of learning to drive learning across the school on an ongoing basis.
