Boarding Christmas Dinner

The boarding community gathered for a traditional Christmas dinner in Tolle's this week. We were joined by our Brothers' community and staff from St Augustine’s and St Monica’s. As usual with any function, the Tolle’s chefs put on an amazing meal. We enjoyed turkey, ham, beef and Yorkshire pudding and roast vegetables. For dessert there was pavlova and black forest cake. We were even joined by Santa and one of his elves.

 

Final Saturday Outing of the Year

On the final Saturday of the school year, our boarders enjoyed a very relaxing day with a morning of shopping at DFO, followed by lunch and activities on the Esplanade. All students enjoyed the relaxing day and the opportunity to be with their friends for one final weekend of the year. 

2023 Term 1 Start-up Days

Boarding families will receive information about the 2023 school year over the holidays in a special edition newsletter along with a calendar. Some key start-up dates for the return to school are below:

 

MONDAY 23 JANUARY

  • All boarders in residence.
  • Year 7 SAC & SMC boarders in residence from 10am.
  • SAC & SMC Years 8, 9 & 10 new boarders in residence from 10am.
  • SAC Years 8-12 boarders in residence between 1pm and 8pm.
  • SMC Years 9 & 11 boarders in residence between 1pm and 8pm.
  • REACH boarding tutorial at 4pm.
  • New boarders’ parent and carers meeting at 5pm in Tolle’s.

TUESDAY 24 JANUARY

  • SAC classes begin.
  • SMC Years 7, 9 & 11 begin.
  • New SMC students Years 8-10 orientation, from 12:30pm to 3:20pm.
  • SMC Years 8, 10 & 12 returning boarders in residence from 3pm to 8pm.

WEDNESDAY 25 JANUARY

  • All SAC and SMC students attend classes.

THURSDAY 26 JANUARY

  •  Australia Day outing to Port Douglas.

2023 Arrivals

While we are all looking forward to the Christmas vacation, planning continues for the 2023 school year. Could families please email return flight details and itineraries to sac.boarding@cns.catholic.edu.au during the break.

 

Please note: All boarders are expected to be in residence the day before school resumes.
