When you change the way you look at things.....

.....the things you look at change

What a very unusual time the past month or so has been!

To all students, parents and teachers -  we are all aware of the drastic changes towards student learning, teaching as well as our working environment due to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak. These are extremely unusual circumstances that we all must face and this is definitely a historic event we will never forget.  Waking up and walking a few steps to our devices to access our online classes, not being able to see our friends at school and working independently at our own homes is something we have had to get used to. These are strange habits, however, as we adapt, we get to experience a completely different way of learning.

We would like to begin with a huge thank you to all the teachers who have been working extremely hard to provide us with the best possible learning experience. We understand how difficult it is to change from in-class to online learning in such short notice. These times are challenging and have taken some time to adjust, but with the help of our fantastic staff, support from the community and the usage of technology, we are able to overcome these hurdles.

We would now like to offer some advice to students. It is safe to say that balance is a major issue whilst working from home since we struggle to stay focused and on track. Many of us find it difficult to maintain our balance between fitness, work and quality of life. It is important to understand that all three of these areas are crucial in order to maintain a well-balanced lifestyle. It is important that you follow the routines set for you and complete the tasks that teachers assign. Also, don't forget to stay active! It is very easy these days to forget about physical activity due to the amount of screen-time we are exposed to. So go for a run, open up a window for fresh air, kick a soccer ball, hit a home run, create that art work you have always wanted and most importantly don't forget to stay social by checking on your fellow classmates as well as your family during these perplexing times.

Remember it is essential that we have scheduled breaks, drink water and practise mindfulness!!   A friendly reminder to keep up with NSW Health guidelines to preserve the health of not only our own, but the well-being of others as well.

Take care, we look forward to seeing you all soon!

Lots of love from the Student Representative Council.
