Learning from Home

I would like to thank our school community for their continued support of our model of online learning.  In terms of my introductory quote, I am hopeful there is “light at the end of the tunnel” and we will emerge from our modified learning model soon.  We will continue to update parents through email, our Facebook page and school app.  In the meantime, parents are asked to contact the school if they require any support.

Literacy and Numeracy

We continue to add resources and links to the literacy and numeracy section of our school website .  A recent addition is a link to Wootube to support students through online videos explaining mathematical concepts.

I am pleased to announce that Mr Morgan Howard has been appointed as our Head Teacher – Literacy.   This is a newly created position which will focus on supporting classroom teachers to improve results in reading and writing, a key focus of the school.

Business Directory

Our online business directory has been launched.  These local businesses are community members supporting our school and parents may wish to use these local services. 

Parents who are interested in joining our business directory should contact the school for information.

New Permanent Staff

At the start of Term 2, we welcomed a number of new permanent staff to Cecil Hills High School

• Mr Basant Sharma joins us from Rooty Hill High School and is teaching a mixture of Science, Mathematics and Engineering.
• Mr Joshua Banks joins us from Erskine Park High School and is teaching History.
• Mr Nicholas Chambour joins us from Ashcroft High School and is teaching Social Science courses.

We are fortunate to have a wonderful mix of new and energetic but also experienced and wise teachers at our school.  We welcome our newest staff members and look forward to their contributions to our school.

On behalf of the school community, I extend my sincere thanks to Mrs Namour and Mr Sadikovic.  At very short notice, Mrs Namour (Funny Face Parties) created and set up the spectacular Welcome balloon arch and Mr Sadikovic (Signblitz) created the wonderful  So happy you're back  'A frame''signs.

The balloons and signage added to the wonderful atmosphere as we welcomed our students back  to school this week.

P&C Meetings

Our P&C meetings have been cancelled for now but we will explore whether we can resume our normal meetings for June.

I look forward to continuing to work with the staff, students and parents of Cecil Hills High School, the best school in NSW.
