2017 Leadership Badges
The 2017 Leadership badges were blessed last week during a Year 5 Mass. Doug Braddrock (5 Gold) and Robert Trupiano (5 Blue) accepted the blessed badges on behalf of the new leaders of our school.
GUIDE DOGS NSW
Today the Year 6 boys were lucky enough to have a visit from Margaret Booth and her dog Desiree from Guide Dogs NSW. The boys found it fascinating listening to and learning about how Margaret works with Desiree in her day to day life. Desiree is Margaret’s fourth guide dog and they have been together for the last 10 years. The visit coincides with the novel that the boys are currently reading in English “The Cay” by Theodore Taylor. In the novel a young boy becomes blind and has to learn to cope with his day to day life stranded on a deserted island.

Round 8 - 2016 Softball Report
Our game this week was at Tudor House. It was a cold and wintery morning down in the Southern Highlands, however, that did not dampen the St Pius X College competitive spirit. We had a very tight contest, each innings was incredibly close. There was fantastic fielding from Alex Vaccher, Andrew Bradford, Rowan Roomie, David Casey and Jonah Gonzales. These players were running onto the ball and keeping the opposition run rate down.
Isaac Elms, Jhon Evans, Patrick Hall and Peter Yastreboff were fantastic covering their bases. The runners hardly had a chance against our team.
Our pitchers Frank Houlihan and Ethan Rossetto did a terrific job, supporting each other and interchanging throughout the game.
Cody Choi and Thomas Wilkins were our catchers and kept the team informed about the play on the field, as well as diving for every ball that came their way.
I am looking forward with excitement to our next match against Trinity Prep at Homebush. Thank you to Mrs Vaccher for keeping score and Ms Bradford for driving the boys to the venue.
Parents remember to be at the ground at 9:15am and bring a chair. Parking is difficult at this venue.
