Lids For Kids

In year 2 we are collecting milk lids because they will help kids without hands and also help the environment by recycling the lids.  Please ask your parents or guardian if it is ok to bring in lids. In each classroom there is a place to put your clean lids so bring them in!

The lids are recycled and the plastic is used to make prosthetic limbs for children using 3D printing.  Lids with a number 2 or 4 on them can be recycled.

Please donate today and when you donate you are also helping the environment!

FOUNDATION TOOTH CLUB

IS BACK!

We have only been back to school for a short time and the Foundation children are showing further signs of growing up. We have a ‘Wobbly Tooth Club’ and a ‘Lost Tooth Club’. Children in the class are so excited at the thought the tooth fairy will be visiting their home soon.

We have many toothless children now in Foundation.

NORTH BRIGHTON KINDERGARTEN VISIT

Today we had a visit from the North Brighton Kindergarten. The amazing Kylie Lawson and Green Group had the morning with the Foundation children.

What a lot of fun the children had together. Foundation students read stories, shared all the wonderful things to look forward to when starting school and played on the playground.

Many of the children in Foundation renewed old friendships and loved seeing beautiful Kylie their old teacher.

It was a delight to see the Foundation children taking the lead and showing the kindy kids ‘their school’. I was so proud of all of them.

We look forward to next week when Kim and Red Group from North Brighton Kindergarten come and visit us too.

FOUNDATION IS SHOWING

ITS CREATIVE SIDE!

This term for our ‘Creative Minds’ theme, Foundation have tried a new way to display the title, beginning, middle and end of a book, we have created trioramas.

This week, we have been reading the story ‘Into the Forest’ by Anthony Browne. The book is based around the fairytale  Little Red Riding Hood. Taking a basket of goodies for our sick Grandma, we journey into the forest and meet other fairytale characters.

Foundation has been looking at the structure of fairytales. Trioramas display the structure of a fairytale in a three dimensional way.

Please pop into the Foundation classroom to have a look at our creative trioramas.

WITH JACKIE  :(

Year 5 are going to miss Jackie and we thank her for providing us with such a wonderful experience over the last 10 weeks. We can’t wait to see her next year!

YEAR 5 MEASUREMENT

Year 5 have been busy learning about informal and formal units of measurement. Our estimating skills to predict the length of objects and lengths have improved dramatically. We’ve had great fun measuring all manner of items and objects such as trees, basketball courts, ants, hand spans, body heights and even the circumference of our heads!
