Year 5/6 Food Technology
Students in Grade 5/6 have been making Rollawicha’s and Marinated Chicken and Vegetable Kebabs over the last two weeks.
Students have been learning about food safety and personal hygiene when preparing foods in the kitchen, with a focus on cross contamination this week.
Students are continuing to develop their knife skills, learning how to crush garlic and grate ginger successfully.
Primary Agriculture
Students in Years 3 – 6 have enjoyed getting to know the chickens this week and have ensured they are well looked after.
They have continued planting more fruit and vegetable and tending to their seedlings they planted earlier.
Thank you once again to all the primary students under the leadership of Declan, Layla and Lolah who are responsible for the watering of the Vegetable Garden and are ensuring the chickens are feed and watered each day.
Thank you to Declan, Lolah and Layla for your leadership.
Sweet Desires
The Sweet Desires students continue to display their talents in the kitchen.
Last week students made Brandy Snap baskets, cigars and cones.
They all rose to the challenge and designed some amazing final products and presented them with seasonal fruit.
This week the Year 10 students completed their final assessment task for the semester.
Students were required to design and create the cake/dessert of their client’s dream. The students completed the task in three lessons and are to be commended on their incredible efforts!
As you will see in the photos, the cakes and desserts created, all meet the design brief and were outstanding!
Congratulations to Chloe, Erin, Brooke, Alex and Rory on a fabulous finish to the year.
