Book Week & Book Fair

Book Week Celebrations took place at Edenhope College on Thursday November 26. Students and staff came to school dressed up as their favourite book character or along the lines of this year's theme...curious creatures, wild minds!

Activites at school began with a walk down to the Lakes Hostel to share the wonderful array of characters and costumes with the residents.

Normally on Book Week Dress Up Day, celebrations are combined with Grandparents Day and the Edenhope College community is invited to enjoy the parade. The Hostel residents are usually able to come and enjoy the fun. This year, as with many things it just wasn't possible for them to come to us, so instead staff and students were able to go and visit them!

Residents thoroughly enjoyed the visit and the students had also made flowers for them. Amongst the residents are a couple of former primary teachers at Edenhope College, Yvonne McDonnell (teacher/librarian) and Claire Ryan.

Once the students returned to school they had a parade out on the oval and then returned to the classrooms to enjoy activities based around some of the shortlisted books

Students also participated in a colouring in and mask making competition  as part of the Book Week festivities. Winners from the Foundation class included Alex Stone, Suzen Musa and Zoey Fisher for their masks and Eliza Smith & Humd Castignani for their colouring in. From the 5/6 class, Oscar Dunstan, Ruby Caldow and Levi Linto won the mask competition and Layla Linto and Caleigh Munn won the colouring competition.

Book Fair

Thanks to all students, staff and families who visited and purchased items from the Scholastic Book Fair that was held in the Centre during week 8. It was a busy place with students able to pop in before and after school as well as during lunch time. Edenhope College will benefit from all the purchases made so thank you for supporting the Book Fair.
