Senior School Learning

Writing Activity

During writing the Grade 4/5/6 students have been learning about information reports. They had two jumbled up information reports on koalas and emus and they had to rearrange the information under the correct headings for them to make sense. The students did a great job with this task.

A Favour from You - Unwanted Uniforms!

The Grade 6 students have been working hard in Art to create 3D models for their Graduation Evening. To complete their projects, we are asking for any donations of unwanted Teesdale Primary School uniforms. This may include t'shirts, jumpers, jackets, pants, socks, hats or shoes. Please note, students will be cutting these uniforms to suit their projects so they will no longer be in wearable condition. If you can assist us with donating these items, please send them with your child to hand to Miss B, Miss Armstrong or Mr Maskell. Any items would be greatly appreciated.

News from Years 3 and 4

Reading

In reading we have been practising sounding out words using our ‘phoneme fist’. We have been locating the phonemes on the Sound Chart and recording the spelling choices. Students have been enjoying the word investigations and we have had lots of great class discussions about the process of sounding out words.

Writing

In writing we have been creating our own Information reports. Students have been following the structure of an information report while adding interesting facts about their topic. This week students have begun publishing their writing pieces, including images. They will begin presenting their reports to the class on Wednesday.

Maths

In maths we have been practising strategies to solve multiplication equations. Students have been doing an excellent job discussing and using the strategies purposefully and efficiently.

We have been using Puzzle Pics Multiplication to practise our strategies. Feel free to encourage your student to access this multiplication game by clicking on the link below:

Physical Education

We have really enjoyed PE the last couple of weeks. Both Senior and Junior students have enjoyed playing lots of team games together. We have worked hard throughout the term to re-establish our ability to play team sports as we really missed being able to do this whilst on remote learning. We have focused on how we can show our school values while playing team games. It's been great to watch students working together, trying their best and demonstrating excellent sportsmanship. One of the team games some of the classes have enjoyed is soccer. New goals have been purchased using funds from our Parents' Club Grounds Project Grant received from the Golden Plains Shire last year.  They're very popular during recess and lunch time.

(Thank you Mrs Kelley, Miss Billingham and students for assembling!)
