Junior School Learning

Years 1 and 2

Last week, students were learning to visualise as they read to help them understand, remember and engage in their reading material. They were given detailed descriptions of characters and settings and had to draw images matching the descriptions.

In writing, 1/2 students were learning to describe characters and settings for narratives. They used the description bubble to help them add detail to their writing and make it more interesting to read.

In Maths, students were learning different strategies to help them add and subtract larger numbers such as the jump strategy, the split strategy and counting on by tens.

Art

The Prep/1 students had a great time making their bumble bees. We used papier mache for the first time! Expert artists ..... they nailed it!
