So good to be back!!!

Year 3/4

Day for Daniel

Last Friday, the students in Year 3/4 participated in activities about 'staying safe'.

The activities involved learning about different body clues to help them recognise unsafe situations. Another activity was to identify which parts of your body are public parts and which are private parts. Finally but not least, the students also identified who their trusted adults are.

Science

Students in Years 3/4 used the Design Process to build a Paper Turbine.

It was fantastic to see students being innovative and creative with the construction of their windmills. (Rita)

P-2 News!

The Year P-2 are really enjoying learning in the Discovery Learning Hub. Last week Stuart showed us how to use the Honey Hills Learning Centre.... There are different textures that may help us to calm our feelings and thoughts as we walk through each pod!

Happy Halloween

To celebrate Halloween on the 31st of October, the Prep students created some spooky pumpkins. Great job Prep!

Our Tilly Ball Time Capsule

This is the letter we put in our time capsule:

Hi whoever finds this in the future!
We made these little treasures after reading about Tilly. Tilly was a character in a story we read for Book Week 2020.
Tilly hid her treasures under a step near her bedroom in her house. But the step got covered over with carpet and her treasures were lost ! Maybe someone will find them.
We buried our treasures just like Tilly did, and now you have found them!!
Year 2020 was a special, hard year because there was a terrible virus and it spread everywhere. We had to stay home and do our learning with our parents. We all worked hard by staying at home and washing our hands and social distancing. Then we could come back to school in October!

Year 3/4/5 Transition

On Tuesday this week, students from Years 3/4/5 came together to prepare them for their 2021 year levels. Every Tuesday for the next few weeks, the students will be joining together to work on their understanding of working in a team, leadership roles and respectful relations. Students are involved in a variety of activities such as Bluearth and Inquiry Project.

Students comments about the first day:

  • hanging out with people we don't normally do
  • starting to know more people
  • talk to people I don't normally talk to
  • It was good work in mixed gender groups
  • enjoyed Bluearth games
  • liked the challenges in the Bluearth games
  • enjoying working in teams playing board games.
