Loving the Library @ MSC

Welcome back to onsite learning!

Term 3 was definitely different for everyone and presented an opportunity for us to find new ways to keep in touch and keep reading!

MSC Library - Remote

The Library team spent time off-site sourcing new books for our students. This included strategic purchasing based on student data along with books suggested by students and staff on the Shopping List from the Library counter.  During term 2 and 3, many new books were processed on workbenches set up at home. The Library team are pleased to have so many new books ready for our return to school for term 4.

Bookmark Making

Bookmark making in the library during lunch is happening again! This gives students a chance to connect whilst having the opportunity to discuss different topics as they create masterpieces.   Some of these great works are now on display in the Library. Students can access craft supplies at the library counter.

Diversity Week

During Diversity Week this year, we displayed some great reading opportunities for students to highlight the importance and raise awareness about our cultural diversity at MSC.  This included a bookmark making activity, along with a Cultural Appreciation Showcase, which included the task of students needing to write an answer to a number of prompts to express their thoughts and feelings about the importance of cultural diversity for a chance to have their writing published.

The library is open from 8.30-4.30 and during breaks. Students may borrow 4 items on a fortnightly basis and are able to re-borrow if required.  We are very happy to continue supporting senior students in the Year 12 independent Quiet Study Room located in the library.

Looking forward to seeing you back in the Library.
