Year 6 Graduation

A reminder that Year 6 parents will have Camp Deposit credit with which to pay the $57 charge for Graduation celebrations and activities.  Please contact the Office to arrange this and, if your Y6 has no younger siblings, a refund of outstanding credit to your nominated bank account.

Music News

Some amazing things happening in Music at the moment as Term 4 is in full swing. Our Prep students are off on a Pirate Adventure, making their own pirate hats and doing some fun rhythm activities with a Pirate twist.

Our Junior students are learning about the 3 P’s for appreciating music, Music from different Places, for different People and for different Purposes. Thus far they have explored Hip-Hop and Music Hall as well as music from Scotland and Papua New Guinea. Our Middle school students are engaging in a class band project that is coming to an exciting conclusion as they begin their first rehearsals with all the moving parts of the band, including percussion, Marimba, Piano and Guitar.

Last but certainly not least our Senior students have been exploring composing their own short melodic pieces on the Piano, creating some fabulous melodies using the Blues scale just last week.

Library News

All library books are now due back, as I have to commence Stocktake. As you can imagine, this is a huge job as all books are removed from the shelves and put through the computer individually. Please help by making sure your child’s books are returned now.

All library books that were due during Lockdowns One and Two and not returned have now been taken out of students’ names and listed as missing.  If these turn up at your house please return them to the Library.  If you receive a notice about an overdue book, it is a book that has been borrowed in Term Four.

If your child has an overdue book at the end of the year it does not magically disappear from the system – it is carried over to next year and your child will not be able to borrow until this is rectified.  If you have previously paid for a lost book and it turns up in good condition during Stocktake (sometimes it has been in the classroom and is only found when tubs are cleaned out or teachers return their books.  Other times it is found in the library in the wrong spot), your money will be credited to your school account and you will be notified.  Unless it is a very popular title I do not purchase a replacement until after Stocktake for this reason.
