From our Assistant Principal

The Farm

Mr Burch has been busy in our Farm over the past few weeks – weeding, planting and watering new fruits and vegetables. He took advantage of the Melbourne sunshine this week and enlisted help from students in MLS to support him in the garden.  We're looking forward to a bumper veggie crop in coming weeks!

Learning in Our School This Week

Prep

This term our Prep students are learning all about life under the sea. This week they have been reading and writing about sea turtles. They created a mosaic sea turtle and during Investigative Learning sessions created under the sea creatures, using craft materials.

Junior

Junior students have been learning all about mini beasts. Reading and writing has been closely linked to this topic with students writing information reports about a mini beast of their choice.

Middle

In the Middle School our students are learning all about matter (solids, liquids and gases) through a range of experiments. The shock and joy on their faces when they see the outcomes of experiments has been a joy to watch.

Senior

Senior students are keeping active through their annual SEPEP (Sports Education in Physical Education) Unit.  Students have been creating their own club rooms for their teams and taking ownership over equipment, umpiring, scoring, coaching and playing during their class tournaments.  This unit empowers them to take on leadership roles and demonstrate a range of character strengths.
