Year 4

It’s been a busy couple of weeks in Year 4. We have been preparing for the filming of our ads which is taking place this week. Students are using green screens with Do Ink and also iMovie. They are filming and then editing to make their ads even more persuasive. Some are convincing Mr Farmer to like cucumbers and Mrs La-Gerche to overlook the sugar in slurpees!

We had Remembrance Day with a difference and appreciate all the work of the Year 6 teachers and students and Grant Coultman-Smith from the Beaumaris RSL for their moving and well organised service. The Year 4 students listened to the service through our Interactive Whiteboard along with all other year levels on Wednesday morning.

Bike Ed is coming! On Tuesday Year 4 students did an awesome job in the hot conditions bringing their bikes in to be checked.

We ask that parents please review and sign the completed checklist, noting any repairs required - mostly bells, handlebar ends that need plugs, air in tyres and maybe a few seat adjustments(!)-and return the checklist to their classroom teacher by Monday 23 November, the Monday before bike-ed starts.

Thank you for organising to have your child’s bike checked.

Children have been taking part in our second semester assessment in preparation for reports. This is a combination of both online and written assessment. Students have written recounts and narratives while also completing online ACER and Essential assessment tests. The infamous Torch and Westwood Spelling Tests have been completed too! We look forward to providing reports to families at the end of the term.

Year 4 sport has been a regular Thursday afternoon feature. Rounders has been the name of the game! Students are developing game sense, throwing, catching, fielding, batting, running speed and hopefully some sportsmanship. This week sees our Grand-Final with the undefeated 4D facing the much improved 4B. Bring it on!
