Care Package Sent To The Staff

Last week, staff at BNPS were treated to a “Care Package” from the staff of Secret Harbour Primary School in Western Australia.  I was sent a message, via the Music teacher at that school – Katherine Anson -  asking how many people work at BNPS. She wouldn’t elaborate, only telling me to watch the mail at school. Some weeks later a rather large, heavy box was collected from the Post Office by office staff (after couriers had tried to deliver it on a Saturday!)

To our delight, it was full of beautiful, encouraging messages and a wonderful assortment of gifts for us to choose from, as well as an abundance of Minties and Fantales. Jo Ratten and Audrey Fine had the very great pleasure of putting all of the gifts onto tables in the staff room, stringing up the messages and then notifying staff that they were all invited to go to the staff room at the end of the day to choose a gift.

This is a copy of the accompanying letter from the school:

To the staff of Beaumaris North Primary School

We have put together this care package as a show of support, to you, our hardworking colleagues across the country.

While we have been lucky enough to be almost back to “business as usual” for some time, our short experience of lockdown, online learning and return to school in a Covid impacted world has left us with empathy for your current situation.

We have followed your city’s journey closely and you have all been in our thoughts.

We hope these little gifts and messages of support bring smiles to your faces and provide some encouragement to face the difficult days….we have all gifted something that helps us get through the working day!

Stay safe, stay positive, stay strong. You’ve got this!

We all acknowledge how testing this year has been, so it was wonderful to have our efforts recognised by colleagues on the other side of the country. The words of encouragement from others in the profession were an extra “shot in the arm”.

Archie Received A Present Too

As many of you know, Archie has really enjoyed being out welcoming all the children into school since the return to onsite learning.

He was really excited this week to get a beautiful surprise letter  - and a very lovely present - from Scruff, another school dog at Secret Harbour PS in WA.  Archie was so grateful and thrilled that Scruff had written to him.  Thank you Scruff and Secret Harbour PS for your kindness, thoughtfulness and for making us smile.
