National Young Leaders Day

I had the pleasure of attending the National Young Leaders Day at Darling Harbour on Tuesday with Mrs Stewart and the Year 6 Leadership Team. We learned so much about leadership from some of Australia’s best: Governor-General David Hurley, Chris Green - Sydney Thunder cricket captain, Dr Jordan Ngyen- biomedical engineer, Caitlin Bassett - Australian Diamonds netball captain, Nazeem Hussain - comedian and author. We also met dancer extraordinaire Ezra who taught us amazing dance moves.

The Season of Lent (From CathFamily)

Fasting does not have to be hard!

Here are some recipes to help you keep your Lenten promises with a happy heart.

Waste Not Stale Bread- Panzanella!

One of the ways we can heighten our appreciation of the food God gives us is to avoid wastage. Here’s a Tuscan favourite for using up stale bread.

No Time to Rise - Unleavened Bread Recipe

During the Passover, the Israelites did not have time to wait for their bread to rise as they had to escape from Egypt. Try your hand at making unleavened bread for your Last Supper meal.

St Patrick’s Day  - 17th March

St Patrick’s Breastplate is a beautiful prayer to pray with your family on St Patrick’s Day. Saint Patrick was a fifth-century Romano-British Christian missionary and bishop in Ireland. Known as the "Apostle of Ireland", he is the primary patron saint of Ireland and also the author of this famous prayer.

Don’t forget when buying chocolate Easter Eggs to buy slavery-free ones!

Would you like to become a Catechist helper?

A Message from the OLF Catechist Coordinator

My name is Wendy Hyams, I'm the Catechist Coordinator for Our Lady of Fatima Parish.

We are in great need of Catechist helpers to go to the state schools in our Parish.  We have a small number of dedicated Scripture teachers in the parish, but they need some help. Please contact the Parish Office on 95247283 for more information. Thank you.

Wishing all our families of Irish heritage a beautiful St. Patrick’s Day!
