Keeping Up with Prep!

We are so incredibly proud of all our students and their start to school. They have settled in so well and are loving being at school. We know saying goodbye to mum and dad can be difficult in the morning but the students are doing a wonderful job and are so happy once they are in their class. They are enjoying coming in each morning and completing different fine motor activities such as lego, threading, tracing, and colouring.

This week in Numeracy we have begun learning about numbers 1-4. Students have enjoyed learning a new game using dice and working with partners. We have focused on how to use the equipment safely and what makes a good partner.

The students have enjoyed demonstrating our school values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience and Safety and earning lots of spark bucks throughout the day. Spark Bucks are a collective reward system where students earn Spark Bucks through demonstrating our values and can use these to buy different prizes at our Spark Buck Shop such as sitting on a bean bag for a day.

We know going from Kindergarten to school can be a big adjustment for students, especially with their eating times. At Orchard Park Primary School we provide all students with fruit eating time. If all parents could make sure they are providing their child with fruit or vegetables to eat during fruit time that would be wonderful.

Just a reminder that we do have a student who is anaphylactic to egg and all nuts within prep. Orchard Park is a nut aware school, however if you could please remind your child to let their teacher know if they are bringing eggs and foods that contain nuts to school that would be greatly appreciated.

We are so incredibly proud of all our students and how well they have begun their learning journey at Orchard Park. We look forward to watching them grow throughout the year.
