What's happening in Year 4?
Year 4Y & B - Science Investigation
In Science we are learning how to grow beans. The first steps are to get a jar and cotton, place the cotton into the jar and place two butter beans on either side of the jar. Gently pour some water on the cotton balls to make them damp and you don't want to make them soggy. We water our plants every day to keep them wet and damp. We love science because it is so much fun and every day we learn a new experience.

In Year 4 we have been learning about lifecycles. We have been growing a butter bean using a glass jar, cotton balls, sunlight and water. In this experiment we are comparing human life cycles to plant life cycles. This has been very interesting and cool, most life cycles would not grow like butter beans do.

We have been comparing human life cycles to plants and animals. One of the things that we have been learning is that butter beans can grow without soil. Our group used cotton balls and two butter beans with a small amount of water. Everyday at school we put a very small amount of water to make the cotton balls damp but not too wet. We hope they grow fast!
