Senior School

Wheels Day

By Darcy

With a clickety-clack, wheels and wheels rolled through the school gates. Kids were so excited. People were riding skateboards, bikes, scooters, hoverboards, and using rollerblades.

We received 3000 positive acknowledgements that allowed us to have this celebration day. It was such a fun day that everyone enjoyed. Make sure you have a look at our facebook page for photos from this event!

Conferencing

By Ruby

Senior B have started a new conferencing system. We have a Reading and Writing conference each week. We read to Miss Donnelly and we give her a recent writing piece.

We each have a set day for our conference. We also know which conference we have on even weeks and which conference we have on odd weeks of the term. The conference system is set up on one of our walls in the classroom to help us remember and independently prepare for our conference. The conference wall also helps our class stay more organised and prepared for a conference. In our conferences we cover things including what we did well, and what we can focus on moving forward in our learning.

Lilydale High

By Tierone

On Friday the 2nd of August, the year 5 students went to Lilydale High School. When we got there we met the year 7 students who would show us around on our tour. Their names were Caitlyn and Kaleb. Then we met the Principal, Miss Wall. She was really nice. Ten minutes later, the year 5s got split into 2 groups, I was in Group 2. First we went to the music room. After that we saw we went to SteamWorks (if you don't know what that is, it's a fancy word for technology!). After that we saw all of the classrooms. Then we saw the reptile room! There were heaps of reptiles including: snakes, lizards, fish, axolotls, frogs, and more! Then we had lunch. It was hotdogs and potato cakes. Then we went back to school.

Production Update!

By Madi

So far every class has been working hard on their dances. Year 5s and 6s are doing 2 dances each. We also have some people appearing throughout the production as featured dancers, who have even more dancing! The senior students with speaking parts are working hard on memorising their lines.

Mrs Bertrand is helping teach everyone their production dances. All costumes for production need to be handed in the 23rd August.
