SCIENCE

YEARS 7 TO 9

Just a reminder that all students are required to have a subscription to Assess On; which is an online assessment program.

Once you have purchased this years subscription from Lilydale Books, you will need to keep your receipt – to log onto the program and link to your teacher.  More information to come.

UNIT 1 BIOLOGY STUDENTS

We have secured a booking to attend GTAC (Gene Technology Access Centre) in the city for next year.

GTAC is Victoria’s leading source of Life Sciences learning and education. GTAC provides an innovative and collaborative educational environment in which students and educators access life science expertise through engagement with practicing scientists, contemporary knowledge and technology.

Payment of $35 will need to be made by the first week of February, as the excursions will be held on February 8, for Year 11 students studying Biology and February 9, for Year 10 VCE Biology students

This excursion will link to the first assessed piece of work required.

GARDEN UPDATE

We have finally filled the bath tubs to make wicking beds.  We are growing all sorts of veggies and natives; including lettuce and celery for the Reptile Room and Science practicals.

We are branching out from Science and are working hard with the Arts Department to make sculptures and as the pictures show, some stepping stones.

The Technology Department are on board and they are busy planning for vertical gardens to be made by the senior students next year.

CONGRATULATIONS AND..... THANK YOU

Congratulations to the following Year 12 students who were presented with their subject awards at the Valedictory dinner on Tuesday 8 December.
