It was a wonderful evening organised by the VCE team, Emily Stewart, Cathy Drury, Laura Higgins, Sarah Redgewell, Alicia Mortley, Anna Rossetto, Rob Webb and Jackie McCormack.

CONGRATULATIONS
Sarah Wagner Year 12
One of our Year 12 students, Sarah Wagner, has been enrolled this year at Melbourne University in the Extension Program for High Achieving Students in the area of Mathematics.
This program provides talented students with an opportunity to study at university during Year 12 and gain valuable skills that will assist when studying at tertiary level full time in the future.
Sarah is the first student at Lilydale High School to undertake this program. Thank you Sarah for paving the way for future students and congratulations and well done for pursuing academic excellence.
YEAR 7 FORM REPRESENTATIVES
Morning tea
The Year 7 form representatives generously invited teachers to a morning tea that was held on Wednesday 9 December.
It was a very enjoyable morning that gave us a chance to chat with the students to see if they had enjoyed their first year of high school. I was very pleased to hear that all had a great and memorable year. Thank you to everyone involved.
ORIENTATION DAY
Orientation Day for new Year 7 students was held across the North Eastern Region on Tuesday December 8.
Here at Lilydale High we welcomed our 2016 Year 7 students and their families into our community during a morning of information and speeches for the parents/guardians.
The students met their new classmates, had a tour around the school and undertook some activities with their home group teacher.
We look forward to the students settling in quickly at the beginning of 2016 and then enjoying a successful and productive six years of secondary school.
2016 CROSS AGE TUTORING PROGRAM
Yesterday we had 30 of our Year 10 students attend a training session with Margarita Breed and Tom
Moore that will skill them up to tutor some of our Year 7 students in numeracy next year.
The program is aimed to the 2016 Year 11 students to assist the Year 7 students with their numeracy skills and encourage a sense of connectedness and belonging to school.
We are very appreciative of the older students giving up one of their study periods in Year 11 to be a part of this program. In many ways it will also assist with their own study of Mathematics.
DISCOVERY CHURCH BREAKFAST CLUB
A very big thank you goes out to our friends at Discovery Church who have been providing breakfast every Friday morning on the deck to many of our Junior School students.
This group of people have provided a warm and friendly atmosphere for our students who have been able to make connections with other students, the coordinators and the Discovery staff.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for a wonderful 2015.
I wish you a very happy and safe Christmas break and look forward to seeing our students back in 2016 for another year of learning, friendships and fun.
