OAKLEIGH GRAMMAR ANNUAL 7 HABITS WORKSHOP

The day was buzzing with excitement from families attending our annual workshop for the '7 Habits of Highly Effective People' on Tuesday, 23rd  of October. With over 25 registrations, it was a phenomenal attendance breaking all records and had the workshop at capacity. It was wonderful to see both couples and individuals attending, many of them taking time off work for this professional development opportunity. Employers can obviously see the benefit of allowing their staff to attend. Oakleigh Grammar is in a very privileged position in being able to offer this workshop to our parent body.

On a personal note, it was an honour facilitating the event and the positive feedback received was a testament to the legacy of Dr Stephen Covey's framework for personal and interpersonal development. The language of The Leader in Me provides a common framework to reference and the data clearly shows that when the home and school relationship is strong and aligned, then students flourish.

Here’s what some of our parents had to say about the event:

"The quality of the content is gold for creating effective dialogue between kids and school. There is so much information to cover that we need so much more time to do it justice. We’d love to do more."

Catherine

"The quality and the way the content was presented was brilliant. It was very engaging! Thank you."

Theodore

"Kathy’s passion for the program is extremely positive and influential. 100% motivated and committed now to be a 'change agent' and a 'transition person'. Thank you!"

Suzy

"I highly commend Kathy for extending the 7 Habits to parents and for facilitating such a remarkable workshop. We need to look at our children as individuals and nurture them for who they are and support them throughout their education and personal life."

Poli

"There was a lot to pack into a relatively short period of time, but I went away with a sense of purpose. I can see that both my family life and professional life will benefit from this."

Andrew

Thank you and congratulations to all of our parents who attended. It's one of the great highlights of the academic year, where the home and school partnership is strengthened and revitalised.
