EISM Cross Country Carnival

Late last term, a small but dedicated group of students represented Oakleigh Grammar at the annual EISM Cross Country Carnival. A number of outstanding results were produced on the day.

The Under 13 Boys Cross Country Team, which consisted of students spanning 3 year levels won the EISM Under 13 Boys Age Group Premiership with the best combined score from all runners from all schools.

The Under 13 Boys Cross Country Premiership Team:

Jovan Milenkovic (Year 6)

William Edgell (Year 7)

Ethan Brown (Year 7)

Michael Kaniadakis (Year 8)

In the Under 13 Boys 3km event:

Jovan Milenkovic placed 1st & Michael Kaniadakis placed 2nd

Our Cross Country Captains: Jenna Menelaou & Alexander Sowden (Year 11) led by example as both finished 2nd in their respective events. Both provided great leadership and support to the younger members of the team on the day.

In the Open Girls 3km event, Jenna Menelaou placed 2nd and in the Open Boys 4km event, Alexander Sowden finished in 2nd place.

Well done to the following students who also ran extremely well to finish top 10 in their event:

School Sport Victoria Southern Metro Regional Athletics Carnival

Congratulations to Lexi Bergmeier of Year 4 who threw another personal best of 22.00m to win the 9/10 Girls Discus at the SSV Southern Metro Regional Athletics Carnival. After a foul throw for her first attempt, Lexi kept her composure to produce an outstanding PB of 22.00m on her third attempt.

Lexi has now created school history by qualifying for the School Sport Victoria State Athletics Carnival in the 9/10 Girls Discus. She is the first Oakleigh Grammar student to qualify for the elite SSV State Athletics Carnival.

The SSV State Athletics Carnival will take place on Monday, 29th October. Good luck Lexi!

Bentleigh District & SSV Beachside Division Boys Volleyball Premiers

Congratulations to our Year 5/6 Boys Volleyball Team who won the Bentleigh District Boys Volleyball Premiership earlier this term. The team was undefeated during the Home & Away Summer Season which took place in Term 1.

A close Grand Final against St Peter’s PS saw the team drop the first set, and down match points in the second set. The boys found something extra to win a close second set , keeping the momentum going to win the third set and the Premiership.
