Year 9 Boys Strength Program

In Term 3, Year 9 boys will be participating in a resilience based program called STRENGTH.

The aim of this program is to assist our young men to negotiate the many hurdles they face as they follow the path to manhood. It is important that they receive the right information and have good role models to help guide them.

This program will endeavour to help our young men think more about the type of man they want to be in the future.

STRENGTH  runs for seven sessions.

The three core values of STRENGTH are:

1. Significance – You’re important, not because of what you do, but because of who you are on the inside.

2. Strength – You have the strength to make good decisions.

3. Purpose – Being true to what is inside of you should be your driving force.

The topics covered in STRENGTH are teamwork and friendship, resilience, work, what makes you a man, boy meets girl, respect and bullying.

Year 9 boys will be timetabled into small groups, and will come out of normal classes to participate.
