SSAA Clay Target Shooting

Suzie McPherson and Peter Markey represented Shepparton High school at the first Local School Clay Target Competition held at the Shepparton SSAA (Pit). The shoot took place on Friday 19th June and was organised by Senior Constable Dean Lloyd and the SSAA President.

Senior Constable Lloyd is the Greater Shepparton Youth Resource Officer and has visited Shepparton High school in the past to

assist with educating students about personal safety, drugs, alcohol, violence and the law. He stated that the day was a success and encouraged students to focus on safe use of firearms and not to worry about those watching them as they competed.

Suzie McPherson (pictured) was one of a handful of girls that competed on the day and was able to achieve some success in her final shoot out on a difficult trap, hitting one out of two clays, something that few managed to do.

Peter Markey had an excellent first round shooting eight out of ten targets. With consistent shooting in the second round he managed to qualify for the A grade shootout. He failed to come away with the prize money as on a difficult trap only one other student managed to shoot both targets and claimed the victory.

Cross Country

Brayden Cain travelled to Bundoora Park on Thursday, 16 July to compete in the 2015 SSV State Cross Country Finals. Brayden was the only representative from Shepparton High School having qualified by finishing in 9th place at the Hume region event.

Brayden recorded a respectable time of 17:31 finishing in 56 place overall. Well done on a fantastic effort, Brayden!
