Year 12 Camp

On the 14th and 15th of July Shepparton High School Year 12 students attended a camp, and went to Melbourne and experienced six different universities; RMIT, Swinburne, Monash, Melbourne, Deakin and Latrobe university. We did a campus tour of the universities, and discovered many courses University have to offer.

We learnt about the different pathways to get into university, the programs university offers, and everything in general that university has to offer, like studying abroad, work experience, residential areas and many other amazing things

Overall the camp was amazing. We definitely all got a taste of the uni life, and most of the Year 12 students have a fairly good idea of where they would like to attend university in the near future. We stayed at the Travelodge Hotel thanks to RMIT. – Shannon Cadel

Throughout the two days spent down in Melbourne the year 12 students looked at 6 different universities to get a feel for where we would like to continue on with further studies, this week I gained more of an understanding on the process of applying for uni courses and all the alternative pathways into university. My plans for next year are to do a double degree in Arts and International Relations. – Tanayah Cranage

I loved camp so much! I am so glad we went, it helped me definitely decide what I want to do, and inspired me to try harder at school now I know what is needed to be accepted into certain universities. – Jasmine Ramage

Gained a lot of knowledge from this camp. Gave me a bigger perspective on what I could possibly be doing next year and what I want to be doing next year. This camp also gave me the push I needed to try and achieve my goals for university. – Candice Halsall
