VALE
Kathleen McColl
This week we sadly farewelled a long time and cherished member of staff, Kathleen McColl following a long illness.
Kath was a much loved member of staff for close to 25 years. She was a wonderful, fun loving and passionate teacher who touched the lives of many students, some who are now parents of children at our school; Kath was the embodiment of all we value at LHS. When talking to past students about their memories of LHS, Kath is always fondly remembered.
She was a beautiful and unique individual who cared for those around her, valued friendships and was eternally positive. Kath loved being part of the community at Lilydale High, she is an enormous loss to us and will be very sadly missed. Our thoughts are with Kath’s husband Ian, family and friends at this time.
NAPLAN

Thank you to all our Year 7 and 9 students for the way in which they went about undertaking the NAPLAN testing.
Special thanks to Janine Sayers, Genaha Thompson, Melissa McMillan and our year level teams for their early mornings to ensure the testing was organised and ran smoothly. The results should be known in September.
Active & Successful Girls' Breakfast

The panel of successful women was one of the best and most diverse we have ever had, speaking with the girls about their successful journey. The messages sent were: surround yourself with people who believe in you, be resilient, passionate, be true to yourself, do what you love, work hard and worry less about what others think.

Significant Person Project - Year 8
All of our Year 8 students are currently involved in a cross curricular initiative called the Significant Person Project.
The idea is for each student to identify a significant person in their lives, write a biography and complete an artistic representation of the person.
The project will culminate in an afternoon tea and presentation of some of the work that has been completed, the students, parents and significant people will be invited.
The dates for the presentations are June 15 and 16, an invitation will be sent out in the coming days. (Please note the change of dates).
