La Trobe University - Aspire Program

LaTrobe University’s Aspire Early Admissions Program acknowledges your volunteering efforts when you apply for higher education. As a successful applicant, you receive an offer into your course in September before you receive your ATAR.

The Aspire Program is open to domestic Year 12 students who volunteer in their community. When you apply through the Aspire Program, LaTrobe will consider your volunteering and community engagement experience (eg School Captain, Sport Captain, CFA volunteer, Duke of Edinburgh, Live saving Victoria volunteer, etc). This, along with your school's recommendation, will form the basis of our assessment. If successful, you will receive an offer from La Trobe in September before ATARs are released, securing your place to study before you complete your exams.

As an added bonus you will be invited to take part in an Enrichment Program designed to support you through the final stages of high school and prepare you for life at La Trobe.

The Enrichment Program offers: VCE/HSC revision lectures to be held in the September school holidays,  access to the La Trobe Library on all campuses, an invitation to a 'Welcome to La Trobe' event, various on-campus events and activities, and access to specialised online Aspire support.

To apply for the Aspire Program, you must apply directly to La Trobe as well as through the VTAC process;

  • be a domestic Year 12 student
  • meet standard course prerequisites, e.g. a study score of at least 30 in Year 12 English and any other extra requirements
  • meet the minimum ATAR of your course

Students will have the opportunity to attend workshops, lectures and seminars of their choice to find out about career options, areas of study, pathways and student life while parents will be able to participate in our special 'parents program'.

The full programs are available online and hard copies and posters will be sent to all schools later this month.

With 103 workshops on offer across our campuses and a range of new exciting inclusions, this event is sure to be bigger than ever!
