August is book month and next week the winners of the Book of the Year Awards Short List 2015 will be announced.  

 

Our Library has purchased all the Short List nominated books, and they will be on display next week.  You are welcome to come in and Reserve a copy. They can be borrowed after next week.

THE MINNOW – Diana SWEeney.  Covers death, grief, fear, teenage pregnancy. Plenty of twists and turns.  Will resonate with accomplished readers.

 

 

TWO WOLVES by Tristan BANcks. Mystery, intrigue and adventure. Nothing is clear until the very end.

 

 

THE INCREDIBLE ADVENTURES OF CINNAMON GIRL by Melissa KEIL. Alba lives behind the bakery and she loves it.  When friends become unpredictable, life gets complicated and chaotic … or do they?

 

 

 

 

THE PROTECTED by Claire ZORn.  Beautifully written, this story is set in the Blue Mountains behind Sydney.  It covers bullying, grief and the healing power of friendship.

 

THE SIMPLE THINGS by Bill Condon (eBOOK)  Aunty Lola has a suitcase where she has stored some items to help her remember what has happened in her past. A lovely gentle read.

 

 

BLEAKBOY and HUNTER STAND OUT IN THE RAIN by Steven Herrick.  An inspiring book for boys, it is typically amusing and thought provoking.
