Junior Golden Nugget

The Junior Golden Nugget is a prestigious under 18 bowls tournament held annually at the Tweed Heads Bowls Club. 

The competitors, from around Australia, are asked to submit a bowls Resumé, from which a field of 16 boys and 16 girls is selected. 

Year 12 student, Elisa Rigoni, was one of five Victorian Girls selected. It is the third year Elisa has been invited to participate.  Last year she was a quarter finalist. 

This year, Elisa was defeated by fellow Victorian, Tiffany Brodie, in the Semi finals. The Semi final game went down to the wire. 

The girls were 20 all on the last end and the winner was to be determined by the first player to 21. Elisa was holding 2 shots but Tiffany won the game by drawing with her last bowl.

Congratulations to Elisa for making it a top four finish in this prestigious national bowls event.
