Year 11 Foundation English

City of Greater Shepparton Mayor – Dennis Patterson (pictured above with students)
On Friday 7th August Year 11 Foundation English had the privilege of meeting the Mayor of Shepparton, Dennis Patterson. It was a great opportunity for students to learn about the role and purpose of Shepparton Council and the duties and responsibilities of a mayor.
Mr Patterson also shared his life experience with students, relating to his refrigeration business and how he enjoys making a difference in the life of others and his love of fishing and hunting. Mr Patterson shared his inspirational story and generated much discussion regarding the City of Greater Shepparton and the importance of good role models, hard work and positive relationships.
Mr Peter McPhee – Vice President of Shepparton RSL
On Friday 14th August we had the pleasure of meeting Mr Peter Mc Phee. Mr McPhee
shared his experience in the development stages of the Shepparton Mall, working in the RSL and his fond memories growing up on an orchard in Shepparton.
He talked about the Victorian Community Road Safety Alliance ‘Looking after our Mates’ an important community program.
Mr Mc Phee said that respect, commitment and thankfullness are three important life skills that are important to the success of any individual.
