2017 Confirmation Program – Catholic Parish of Belgrave

On Sunday, 21st  May, 2017, Monsignor Greg Bennet will be visiting the Parish of Belgrave to celebrate the sacrament of Confirmation. Any Catholic students wishing to be confirmed this year are invited to enrol in the Parish Confirmation Program. Ordinarily students are confirmed in Year 6. If your child is older than Year 6 and has not yet been confirmed they would be welcome to participate.

 

Preparation for confirmation will take place over ten weeks at St Joseph’s Church, Emerald, between 4pm and 5pm on Wednesday evenings and at St Thomas More's Church, Belgrave, between 4pm and 5pm on Thursday evenings. The program begins with information evenings on Tuesday, 21st February at St Thomas More's Church from 7pm to 8pm, as well as Wednesday, 22nd February, at St Paul’ s Church, Monbulk from 4pm to 5pm.

Please note that the first Reconciliation and Eucharist program (ordinarily for Year 3 students) will begin in late May.

South Eastern Chances

South Eastern Chances is an innovative scholarship program which provides financial support to young people up to the age of 25 to pursue their dreams and academic ability. 

 

Through South Eastern Chances, Connections UnitingCare provides scholarships of up to $1500 to young people facing significant financial hardship to support them in following their dreams. 

 

Our 2017 funding round dates are as follows:

Round 1 - closes Friday, March 4, 2017

Round 2 - closes Friday, July 1, 2017

Round 3 - closes Friday, October 28, 2017

Raising Kids Together

‘Raising Kids Together’ is hosting the 2017 Early Intervention and School Inclusion Conference -

Saturday, 18th March, 9:00am -2:00pm

Come join us for practical workshops for supporting families and children!

 

Our aim is to provide teachers, parents and professionals with practical skills to support early intervention and inclusion best practice for families with children with ASD, disabilities, and behavioural disorders. To bring our communities of support and services together to support the individual needs of our children.

 

Our keynote speaker Dr Claire Spicer will open our conference.

 

Some of our workshops we are hosting include Sensory Processing, Early Literacy and Phonics Teaching, Sleep Support, Dealing with Difficult Behaviours, and Anxiety.

Auskick 2017

An Autism Specific Football Program  for your child.

 

Every year Irabina runs an Auskick Program designed specifically to provide children with Autism the opportunity to gain the confidence and skills they need to play in a supported environment, run to their individual needs & requirements. 

 

The program actively encourages parents and carers to participate with their children and to create bonds with other parents and carers in similar situations to themselves.

 

The program will run over 10 -12 weeks, commencing Saturday, 22nd April 2017 and is facilitated by a coach, a team of volunteers and Irabina staff members.
