Bushfire Season
Although summer has gone, the bushfire season has not. For this reason, we want to take a moment to remind everyone of how important it is that the School has up-to-date information for each of our families. Attached is a document reminding families of what it means for our school to be on the Bushfire At Risk Register and the steps that families should take in times of high fire danger.
BHCS Uniform Policy
We would like to make all parents aware that an updated version of our Uniform Policy has been placed on the website for viewing. We encourage all families to make themselves aware of this policy and the requirements related to uniform.
A copy of the policy can be found at http://www.bhcs.vic.edu.au/uniforms.html
under the heading Uniform Requirements Guide & Policy
Alinta Uniform Update
Please see the attachment below with an update of information from Alinta.
We have been advised that there will be a delay on socks and sports socks until mid-March. We ask that families please ensure their children wear similar socks until such time the stock comes in.
Families who have backorders and have not heard from Alinta are encouraged to get in touch with Head Office to enquire as to the status of the backorder.
Sustainable School Shop
The Sustainable School shop is starting to show a number of second-hand uniform items for sale. We encourage you to register for the Sustainable School Shop (registration is free) and investigate if any of these items suit your child.
Sustainable School Shop also provides a place to sell and buy secondhand textbooks and uses a network of schools for this purpose. This means that textbooks are available not just within BHCS, but from a wider community.
If you haven't yet signed up for the Sustainable School Shop, why not give it a try today. You can go to the Sustainable School Shop by going to www.sustainableschoolshop.com.au
Tuesdays -
A Treasure Trove of Music
An enthusiastic group commenced last Tuesday for BHCS Band.
Alongside all the regular, and new, music tuition happening on a Tuesday (guitar, flute, percussion, strings, keyboard), Band will continue to meet 7.15am to 8.30am on Tuesday mornings in the Music Rooms.
Just a reminder that it is NOT TOO LATE TO JOIN - enquiries may be directed to Mrs Donker or Mr Thompson.
A reminder to those who have already signed up that you need to submit your completed application forms if you have not yet done so. We also encourage you to start bringing your instruments; as well as a 2B pencil, eraser and sharpener. If you do not yet have access to an instrument, please speak with Mr Thompson about the hire or purchase options. Band students also require the relevant Band Method book which can be purchased directly or at a discounted rate via the school. Check your Google Classroom notices for details.
Over in Junior School, our Tuesday lunchtime was also tuneful with the sounds of singing under the instruction of Mme McGrath and Mrs Nicholas. Any Junior School students who are interested in music are encouraged to attend Tuesday lunchtimes in the Junior School Music Room.
