Principal's Report

“You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them” ― Maya Angelou

It never ceases to amaze me how our school community manages to navigate the ever-changing situation we find ourselves in. Just as we began a fresh start after our break we are plunged into another lockdown. I can’t thank everyone enough for your support as you transitioned back into the world of remote and flexible learning. I am loving seeing some of the work being completed and the videos and messages coming through via Seesaw. For some of our families remote and flexible learning is not possible due to the three categories that have been identified and we welcomed those students back onsite.

Our teachers are working incredibly hard at managing remote learning and at times onsite learning. Please be aware that this can be a balancing act at the moment so they may not be able to provide you with feedback straight away during the day. Most of our ES staff have been at work the whole time providing on-site supervision for these families too. An incredible effort by our whole school community to keep the students learning as a priority and everyone as safe as possible.

I would like to welcome a new teacher to our school community. Yangyang Ma joins us to be the teacher for Group 17. Yangyang is well known to our students, staff and some of our families as he has been a casual member of staff here over the last couple of years.

I will keep you all updated as the COVID situation progresses. Fingers crossed we are out of lockdown on Tuesday! Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
