Welcome back for Term 2.   Another busy term for excursions, tests, exams etc and only 20 weeks left for the Year 12’s to complete their studies “before they are out of here”.

RAC Talk

Wednesday this week we had the RAC come to give a presentation on the theme “My Decision, My Destination”.  They are quite full on  videos and chats at times, however  they are very enlightening and empowering for the students and giving students enough courage to speak up if they are put in a situation in a vehicle that they consider not comfortable.

Outside The Locker Room

We have also secured the services of another group “Outside the Locker Room” who will be attending on two separate nights to speak with the students.   We have had extremely great feedback on this organisation and are extremely excited to have secured their services.

Kitchen Roster Change

With some roster changes taking place in the kitchen area, we have had our Friday evening meal time brought forward by a half hour to a 5.30pm start time.   I am confident this will have minimal impact on our standard operating procedures.

Leave Changes

Once again we have been having a lot of late changes to leaves, both leaving and returning to the College.  Could we please ask that all students, parents and guardians please make every effort to make the leaves as accurate as possible when submitting them.   “Residential staff” are spending an enormous amount of time and effort altering leaves over the weekend.   When any leave is changed by submitting a “whole new leave process” both parental permission and senior staff are required giving approvals prior to any changes occurring.   Please work with us on this as I don’t want to be forced into enforcing the above process.   Just another reminder that staff need to hear from parents and or guardians if and when we have changes.

Help Is Near If You Need It

With the tragic event of the last couple of weeks, please be aware we have access onsite to both a Chaplain and a Psychologist.   Anyone can make arrangements to see either through asking staff.   Please don’t tackle things on your own, remember a problem shared is a problem halved.

Country Week Preparation

Once again we have a large Country Week group heading off at the end of term to represent us in several different sports.   Therefore they have been very busy training and trying out for their sports.  Keep training hard, it is one of the best weeks of the year.
