Senior School Ensembles Concert

The Senior School Ensembles Concert was a great success and well attended by many parents, students and staff. Many comments were made afterwards on the continued improvement of the school ensembles, the high quality of performance from all groups and the pleasing variety of repertoire.  Performing in an ensembles group teaches students to learn to listen, grow and develop as a musical team. The music comprehensive music program at Girton encourages individual tuition, ensemble involvement and classroom music lessons make for a well-rounded and complete musical journey for our students. Ensemble performances, like those at the Ensembles Concert, allow students to share the joy of learning with their friends, family, teachers and their community.

Across the two evenings of Senior and Junior School Ensembles Concerts, almost 600 students crossed the stage to share their skills and development with their friends and family. The audience was treated to twenty-four high-quality performances from ensembles ranging from Poco Strings through to Girton Singers. The broad range of musical experiences demonstrated across the two evenings was a mark of the ongoing commitment and support from the music staff, Headmaster, Head of Junior School, Board, students and families. Thank you to the many staff involved in their planning, coaching and organisation of the events.
