Junior School Ensembles

The Junior School Ensembles Concert was a wonderful celebration of fine music-making and teamwork. It is well documented that learning music is good for the brain and for the development of a child. More recent studies have proved that being part of an ensemble helps children and adults to develop more confidence and helps to develop self-esteem.

All student from Years Three to Six had the opportunity to perform on the stage at the beautiful Ulumbarra Theatre. It has been a joy to see the development of our young students from nervous Year Three students to the confident and more experienced older performers we saw on stage on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

I thank the Board and Headmaster, Mr Maruff and Head of Junior School, Mr Donald Thompson for their ongoing support and encouragement. I thank our music staff for their ongoing commitment to excellence and our Head of Music, Mr Steve Vine for his leadership.

I thank the parents for their patience and encouragement of their children as we all await (for what at times can seem like a long, long time) the arrival of the beautiful sound. Tuesday and Wednesday night demonstrated that it has been well worth the wait.
