Table Tennis Continues it's Fantastic Results

Last Thursday we entered teams in all four sections of the Junior Sandhurst Table Tennis Competition, competing with seven other schools from Bendigo.

The Year 8 Girls team of Hannah Green, Olivia Green, Charlotte Lowther and Mya Long played to their brilliant best and were clear winners.

The Year 8 Boys team of Benjamin McConachy, Aksharan Shobanan, Jeremy Carlson and Viran Dhanapala played well to win all of their round-robin matches but unfortunately lost to a very strong Bendigo South East team.

The Year 7 Boys team of Henry Rathjen, William Bowles, Sampson Tully and Thomas Conlan played consistently well all day to be undefeated and winners of the Year 7 Boys competition.

The Year 7 Girls team of Seren Smith, Amelie Woodward, Ava Bonsey and Lily Richter eventually came out on top in their competition after needing to win their last two games convincingly after falling behind by six games to four. After the scores were totalled they were level in rubbers, level on games and had won by one point.

Congratulations to all of the players on their sportsmanship, behaviour and on the effort they put in. This continues the success of the Girton Table Tennis teams, having won 11 out of 12 competitions entered so far this year. Thanks again to our coach Mr Paul Green for his expertise, time and enthusiasm.

On Wednesday the 14th of August the Senior Boys and the Senior Girls teams travel to Melbourne to compete in the State finals. We wish them well.
