WILDLIFE INCURSION

Seniors & Middles Wildlife Incursion!

Today was a very special day for our Middles & Senior students!

We have been learning all about different animals and the adaptations that they make to survive in the wild.

Vince from Aussie Wildlife Displays came to our school and introduced us to some amazing Australian animals! See below for some awesome photos!

We got to see:

  • Tabitha the Black-Headed Python - She has a black head so she attracts the sun to warm up
  • Sue the Pygmy Python - She is a reddish/brown colour because she likes to camouflage into her desert environment
  • Martha the Blue Tongue Lizard - She has a blue tongue to scare away predators!
  • Gumnut the Stumpy Tail Lizard - Her stumpy tail looks like a head to protect her from predators
  • Matilda the Glider Possum - she has wings that allow her to fly up to 90m in the air!
  • Ally the Wombat - she has a strong palate in her bottom to bump away predators!!
  • Philippe the Parrot - He has a strong beak which makes eating hard grains and nuts easier
  • Splash the Fresh Water Crocodile - His nose, eyes and ears sit above the water so he can still see, smell and hear his prey!

Thank you again to Vince for coming out and showing us all your amazing animals!
