Collaborative Award - For always working well with others and being inclusive of all members in our classroom. In class sport this week, you showed your ability to be a team player and follow expectations so everyone could have a fun lesson. Well done Elissa and keep it up!

Curious Award - Being so interested in our Inquiry learning about connections between living and nonliving things. I’ve loved watching your enthusiasm and listening to you share your ideas and wonderings with your classmates. You asked some great questions about photosynthesis that really got everyone thinking.

Determined Award - Working super hard this week during Inquiry. Ari, I was so impressed by the way you pushed yourself to gain a solid understanding of ‘photosynthesis’! You were able to independently complete all tasks required of you and to an extremely high standard! Well done!!

Determined Award - Showing excellent determination in maths this week. You never gave up when things got tricky and I was very proud when you used positive language to keep on going! It was great to see you use a number of strategies to solve multi step problems. Great work!

Creative Award -  Your delicious reading presentation. I was impressed with your organisation and creativity for your tasks based on ‘The smart cookie.’ I think everyone enjoyed your taste testing and design your own cookie task. You are one very smart cookie. Well done!

Respectful Award - Gabriel, every day you show respect to others in our classroom and community. The way you speak to others, learn with others and play with others is excellent, and a wonderful example to everyone around you. Keep up the great work!  (from week 2)

Collaborative Award - Working so well with her peers on our Melbourne Museum excursion! Zia demonstrated engagement throughout each exhibition and demonstrated resilience when we were not able to see the IMAX movie. Zia asked lots of questions and completed her booklet! Well done!

Collabortive Award - Collaborating with your peers and working hard during our excursion to the Melbourne Museum yesterday. You demonstrated all of our St Joseph’s values as you walked around the museum, representing our school. You helped peers in need when working on the Triceratops Adapts booklet and engaged in all conversations with confidence. Well done, Jasper.

Creative Award -  Your brilliant chuan creations during Mandarin. You all used your imagination to create boats that could float and hold a whole heap of fruit and dinosaurs. I also impressed with your huo che lego pieces. They all looked real! Well done preps!

For creating a  dazzling cool chameleon in our Animal Adaptation Art lesson. She chose her colours effectively and blended the watercolors to create something special. Well done Sophie

Leo was a very focussed, creative learner in art this week. He followed the How to Draw video with care and attention to detail. His final creation, a gorgeous  Toucan, is outstanding. Keep up the great effort Leo!

Self Awareness Award - demonstrating the ability and  willingness to work independently during their design unit. They were at different points and stages of their learning but had the self awareness and ability to concentrate on and finish what they needed to complete.

Collaborating with her partner. You were both quiet, productive and resourceful when you had to work together and complete the online quizzes on materials and their properties.

Resilient Award - All of the hard work and dedication you have put into improving your handwriting this week! Perseus you absolutely blew me away with your attention to detail and how you formed our ‘focus letters’ with precision and accuracy! You have developed a keen interest recently to make this improvement and have even been seen to write out the letters of the alphabet in your spare time! I am so proud of you! Keep it up!

Responsible Award - For being a great friend and responsible person in our orienteering excursion yesterday. You were fantastic in working collaboratively with others to find the clues and got really into the activity. Well done on being a great teammate and encouraging others!

Responsible Award - This is for your fabulous positive attitude to welcoming a potential new student into our school and making her feel included. You stepped up and took it upon yourselves to make her feel comfortable and welcomed through playing with her during break times, introducing her to other students and teachers and taking her on a school tour. I am so proud of the way you have grown into such beautiful and responsible leaders!

Proactive Award - Your brilliant investigation on the Mogao Caves. In just one lesson you picked your famous landmark, researched it and created a poster. I was impressed with your focus and your ability to organise and present information in such a short time. Well done.

Proactive Learner Award -Participating fully during our last soccer lessons. You listened to and followed instructions. You demonstrated responsible behaviour and showed great respect for the instructor and fellow classmates. And to top it all off, you probably saved four goals when you were your team’s goalkeeper !!
