EDUCATION IN FAITH

Sacrament of Confirmation
On Saturday the 5th of November we celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation. The Mass was celebrated by Bishop Terry Curtin and Father Shabin and the church was full of family and friends who were eager to support all of our Confirmation Candidates. The Mass was reverant and the children were so very well prepared. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the teachers who prepared the children and the extended staff who attended on the day to support them. Thank you also to Bishop Terry and Father Shabin for your spiritual guidance. Thank you to the families and friends who attended and made the day so special for the candidates and finally thank you to the children themselves. Your dedication, patience and hard work have all paid off, I am sure that you all had a wonderful day.

Spirit of God, grant me: The gift of wisdom To see the world through your eyes, The gift of counsel To make difficult decisions, The gifts of knowledge and understanding To use my mind to know you and to love you, The gift of fortitude To have the courage to live in the faith Despite the difficulties and disappointments, The gift of piety To be able to express my special love And commitment to you, And the right kind of awesome fear That makes me pause to wonder and revere God’s Love.
We are looking for a family to organise the Saint Joseph’s Christmas Eve Nativity Children's Family Mass.
This is such a rewarding experience and a valuable memory opportunity for your family. You would be required to:
- Organise children to participate in the Nativity Scene
- One rehearsal prior to the night
- Costume available at school.
If you can help please contact Fiona or Mary ASAP.
Religious Education at Saint Joseph’s
We are a Catholic School that models Religious Education lessons around the teachings of the Gospel where we are all encouraged to be the best person that we can be. We promote curiosity and wonder when exploring themes of Social Justice and we approach this learning using an Inquiry method based on the Pedagogy of Encounter. We explore other religions in the context of the Christian faith and encourage tolerance and acceptance of all people and all religious denominations.
