MATHS @ ST JOEY'S

MATHS OLYMPIAD & GAMES COMPETITION

A big congratulations to the 32 St Joey’s students who participated in the 2022 Maths Olympiad and Maths Games. I am beyond proud of the level of enthusiasm and engagement that these students have shown towards mathematics this year! I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing them think differently and apply different problem-solving strategies to each tricky question. 

Several St Joseph’s students were awarded special certificates or prizes for high achievement this year. Congratulations to:

•  Elliot B - Elliot scored 21/25 questions correctly, placing him in the top 10% of the Maths Olympiad (Junior Division). Elliot is awarded a Maths Olympiad trophy, badge pin and certificate for his achievements. 
• Kaelan W - Kaelan scored 19/25 questions correctly, placing him in the top 25% of the Maths Olympiad (Junior Division). Kaelan is awarded a Maths Olympiad patch and certificate for his achievements. 
• Jasper VD - Jasper scored 17/25 questions correctly, placing him in the top 25% of the Maths Olympiad (Junior Division). Jasper is awarded a Maths Olympiad patch and certificate for his achievements. 
• Zia G, Phuong P, Marisa C, Parker J & Maria P scoring above 15/25 questions correctly. The 5 students received a Maths Games patch and a certificate for their achievements. A special congratulations to Zia and Phuong for coming in first place with a score of 21/25.

All members of the 2022 Maths Olympiad & Games teams have been awarded a certificate for their involvement in the tournament this year.
