From the Principal's Office
Mr Chad Harris
Thank you to the whole school community for a great year at Woodland Road.
I’d especially like to acknowledge our students who I see every day trying hard with their schoolwork in classrooms, having fun playing with their friends in the playground, volunteering to be part of extracurricular activities, participating in sporting events, enjoying excursions and camps, and most of all being kind to classmates and other students.
And to our staff - our teachers, our school learning support officers, our general assistant and our office staff. I’d like to thank each and every one of these people who work hard at school every day and spend countless hours at home working to ensure we provide the best possible education to our students in a safe, respectful environment. Our general assistant keep our school looking great, our office staff ensure all the administration and communication is always up to date and our school learning support officers provide outstanding support to teachers and students everyday in classrooms.
This year, we farewell Mrs Miller, Ms McCurry, Mrs Hoban, Mr Damien Major and Mrs Williams, who is taking maternity leave. We wish all these staff a wonderfully successful future and we thank them for their contribution to Woodland Road. We will miss them all.
As well, a huge thank you to our parents, carers, grandparents and friends who support their children with homework, by sending their children to school everyday (unless they are sick), by ensuring their children have lunch, recess and are dressed in school uniform and by talking to their children about their day at school. We thank those families who are able to support their children by attending assemblies, open days, picnics, and presentation or celebration of learning assemblies and special events like the colour run, athletics carnivals and P&C.
I’d like to acknowledge the support of the P&C and thank all the members of the P&C and especially the executive committee for their ongoing support of the school.
Have a safe an enjoyable holiday with your families and friends. Remember that students in Years 1 – 6 return on Tuesday 31 January 2023.
