Primary Sub-School News

What a great fortnight of learning and play we have had in the Primary Sub School! On Friday the 31st of October, all the sub-schools had a Halloween dress-up day. There were ghosts, Spider-Men, Fairies and so much more. We had a parade in our big playground to show off our fancy costumes. It was a lot of fun!

The Science topic this term is "Mini Beasts," and students have been learning about insects and other small creatures. We held an incursion at school and all students had the opportunity to visit. Students have been learning about minibeasts in the classroom, and some did some handy craft work to make a spider.

Spring has definitely sprung and students have enjoyed some time in the sunshine. It is really important that your child has a hat at school this term to protect them from the sun. When the UV is very high, we do remain indoors to make sure we don't get too hot. On these days, students can choose an activity including playing board games, engaging with toys and reading books.

On the 18th of November, the Primary Sub School will go on an excursion to BOUNCE. Parents and carers should have received a permission note about this excursion.  If you have a current Working With Children's Check, and you would like to come to support our students that morning, please let your child's teacher know. We are all looking forward to celebrating a fantastic year together!

Room 7

This Semester Room 7 has been busy learning together and building friendships. We have continued to enjoy participating in a range of activities such as the Kitchen Garden program. In the garden,  we have learnt about windmills and what they are used for and in the kitchen we have cooked delicious meals such as garlic bread. In Science Room 7 have enjoyed learning and exploring different minibeasts and finding them using microscopes in the garden. We have loved the music and dance incursions in the CLH. learning how to move and express ourselves using dance and song. In Numeracy, students have enjoyed hands-on learning to explore Australian money and collecting and graphing data.  In English, students have enjoyed learning how to build sentences using colourful semantics. We have had a fun and busy time this year in Room 7!
