AEP Dance

By Elise Tebbutt

During the school holidays, our wonderful Year 9 and 10 AEP Dance Students went to Sydney to compete in the Dance Life Unite Nationals competition, having qualified at regionals earlier in the year. They have worked extremely hard on their two routines, Charleston and Bossa Nova Baby for the last three terms. They competed with both in the competition, placing 5th with a ‘highy commended’ award from the judging panel for Bossa Nova Baby. We are so proud of the girls for the hard work and dedication they have shown to the AEP Dance team. It is not only an outstanding achievement that they were invited to compete at Nationals, but even more exceptional that they were able to impress the judges amongst all of the top tier competitors at the event!

Congratulations to Katarina Anciferov, Evie Auslender, Hannah Birch, Grace Bristol, Ashleigh Franks, Catherine Hess, Charlotte Shepherd, Kayla Si, and Alyssa Willetts.

Here is message from one of the Year 9 students, Ashleigh Franks:

"We are so grateful to have been given this opportunity. It was a great experience that allowed us to enhance our dance skills and have the most exciting time. One the first day of the competition we explored Sydney and all of its wonders enjoying a day in the wonderful, thrilling Luna Park. On the second day of the competition, we were inspired by the energetic dance workshops, with professional choreographers and dancers. We were also able to build new connections backstage, with the friendly competitors from other schools and states, as we shared our excitement to perform. As a team, we are so proud of our performance at Nationals and the work we have put in throughout the year to reach this point. We would also like to thank our choreographer, Jillian Green for creating such dynamic, captivating routines for our team!"
