Principal's Notes

Dear families and friends,

This week the school was very quiet while the Year 3/6s were on camp but we were lucky enough that our Kinder students came for a visit on Tuesday. This was a great chance to be at school to have some time on their own at school while the 'big kids' were away. We have eight students starting in Foundation next year. Miss Gray will be here for their last two transition sessions at school.

Fleece and Flower Show

The students all have entries in the Fleece and Flower show up on display. Thank you to Mrs Bell for setting all the displays up for the school. We all look forward to heading down after school this afternoon to see the beautiful displays of craft, cooking and flowers.

Year 3/4/5 and 6 Camp

On Monday morning, we had 25 very excited students plus Paul Quinn, Chris Price, Miss Thompson and Mrs Brabham all ready with their bags packed heading off on the bus to Cave Hill Creek Camp near Beaufort for their action packed days. Mrs Brabham and Miss Thompson were very impressed with all the students and their positive attitude and their behaviour.  Please check out all the photos of their adventures later in the newsletter.

Thank you again to Paul and Chris for all their help on the camp and to our terrific teachers Miss Thompson and Mrs Brabham for all their organisiation and efforts. I do hope those thank you gifts made it home to Paul and Chris.

Year 6 Totem Poles

This year, the Year 6s will be decorating a totem pole each as a reminder and reflection of their time here at Cavendish Primary School. They have been positioned on the path on the way to the school buildings from the back gate.

Thank you to Craig Crawford and his Nutrien Ag team for kindly donating the new the timber poles for the Year 6s.

A huge thank you to Simon Thomas for removing the old poles and digging in the new five poles. The ground underneath the poles was very rocky and took quite a bit of digging as you can imagine.

School Play - 'The Golden Plan'

Mrs Huf has sent home a note on Thursday about the costume that the students will need. It is also included in this newsletter on the Music & Performing Arts page.  The students will be need to arrive around 6pm and the play will begin at 6.30.

Grounds Maintenance Update

We have recently had audits completed on the playground and trees in the school, so we are now just waiting for their reports. The replacement solar panels have now been installed and they are nearly ready to be turned on.

Thank you to Pat Dixon for removing the torn shade sail at the sandpit and for fixing one of the point posts on the oval.

Have a lovely weekend,

Lisa Ferrier
