Data Week

This week all teachers took part in our termly Data Days. These days provide privileged time for teachers to unpack the needs of all students so that they can plan responsive point of need teaching. Teachers unpacked student data in the areas of Literacy and Numeracy as well as their inquiry programs. If you have any questions at all about your child’s learning I encourage you to get in-touch and have a chat with their teacher.

The NED Show.

Last week all students took part in a school-wide education program called The Ned Show. NED is a loveable character whose name is an acronym for Never give up, Encourage others and Do your best. There was a lot of excitement around the show and it was a great way to promote our school culture of kindness.  As part of the program, NED yo-yos are available for purchase from the office. The sale of the yo-yos make the show possible and ensures it can continue to send its great message to other schools.

Back Flips Against Bullying

The Back Flips Against Bullying crew cartwheeled and flipped their way into the Arts Centre this week. This interactive acrobatic show had our students and teachers hooked from start to finish and taught some great lessons about bullying and what we can do as a community to ensure it doesn’t happen in our school.

Hands On Learning

The Hands on Learning team were at it again this week, cooking up a storm in the HoL Kitchen. Each week the team have been learning new skills in the kitchen and are looking to have homemade goods available for purchase in the canteen before school in the coming weeks. This week they made the ever-popular Honey Joys as well as some fresh playdough for next week’s Science lessons.

Interschool Sport

Well done to all of our students who have taken part in interschool sports over the past two few months. Our A grade soccer team went down in a nail biting grand final this afternoon but gave it their all.  Hold your head high team! It can be tough competing against some of the bigger schools but our ‘Easties’ have done us proud displaying our PAL values in all games. While some teams may not have got the wins they would have liked the improvement from week to week was easily visible.
